Career Development

Your career is one of our top priorities

The Wharton Marketing Club works hand-in-hand with the Wharton MBA Career Management team and the other professional clubs on campus to provide year-round learning, support, preparation and networking opportunities. Every one of our members has a unique background and set of interests, and we want to help you pursue your ideal path.

We provide programming for students interested in BRAND, PRODUCT, GENERAL and MARKETING management functions across a wide range of industries, including Tech, Retail, CPG, Financial Services, Auto, etc.

Our Programs:

Second Year Panels

Each fall, returning second years make themselves available to discuss their recently-completed summer internships. Grouped around industry and function, these students are a great source of knowledge and candid feedback, both on marketing projects in general and on companies in particular.

Lunch 'n' Learns

Lunch 'n' Learns are a wonderful opportunity to informally connect with recruiters. Participating companies typically share a case study or thought leadership piece as a way to educate students about the types of issues that marketers face in their everyday.

Coffee Chats

Coffee chats are a time for you to interact one-one-one with a company representative! Take 30 minutes to ask all your questions and learn more about why a particular company might be a great fit for you. The Wharton Marketing Club hosts coffee chats in conjunction with the MBA career Management office.

Day-on-the-Job Series

One of the Wharton Marketing Club's most popular events is the annual Day on the Job series. Companies invite students to spend a day at their headquarters to learn more about marketing at that firm and network with their employees. Attendance is typically limited, so as not to overwhelm the recruiting company.

Mock Interviews and Resume Reviews

Outside of the buddy program, groups of second years volunteer to review first years' resumes and provide feedback. In general, one can get several second years to review a resume, providing a diversity of comments that strengthen the universal appeal of a resume. Mock interviews by second years provide the opportunity to see what it will really feel like to be sitting in that interview room during the first years' interview period.

Career Treks

Students, along with the Wharton Career Management office, organize Treks to various cities to visit companies in that specific region. Students get a glimpse at the company culture firsthand and get to network with company representatives.

Industry News

Each week we send a newsletter to keep you in the loop on all the latest headlines and trends within marketing across industries so that you can stay abreast of the exciting world of marketing as you prepare for networking events.

Case Competitions

Wharton students participate singly and in teams in many case competitions. Opportunities include internal competitions, other business schools' cases, and the prestigious L'Oreal e-Strat challenge.
